Why it's time to escape the diet cycle......

Very few people haven't tried one diet or another. Low carb, low fat, keto, paleo, Slimming World, Weight Watchers, calorie counting....the list goes on.
What's the common theme? Most involve a focus on either restriction, cutting out or unrealistic counting. Which means eventually they fail. Because you get too hungry, because your cravings get too much, because you go out for a meal and you don't know how many points or calories each item is!
Hence why I love turning the entire system on its head. But we'll come back to that, let's start with looking at the diet rollercoaster and why you need to jump off it NOW!

I've watched so many people do big name diets. I've watched them force themselves to eat 'healthy' foods which they are clearly not enjoying. Maybe get sucked into buying overpriced branded products, which are still just processed meals with a healthy label. Then go to their weigh in each week. Often celebrate with a blow out post weigh in. Usually eventually reach their goal. Go back to 'normal'. Gradually put it all back on. Start again.
There's an underlying issue here too. If you are too restrictive, your metabolism drops to preserve energy. Which means when you go back to 'normal', your metabolism is lower. So you burn less energy. And most likely put on more weight than you lost. Plus are you focusing on the foods which are anti-ageing, energising, heart healthy, mood boosting...? Which maintain lean muscle and metabolism?
And 'Starvation mode' is a real thing. When you cut back your calories too much, so your body hangs on to fat for survival.
Another thing. You drop your calorie intake to below around 1200 calories per day, there's a chance you could start experiencing side effects such as hair loss, extreme fatigue, ageing skin and a variety of other health problems.

And there is MORE. Neuron pathways will strengthen in your brain to build comfortable habits. If you focus on cutting out and keep focused on what you are cutting out then, to put it simply as possible, those particular thoughts will become stronger and more consuming. 'MUST NOT EAT COOKIES' being front of your mind means the word COOKIES is being repeated over and over in your mind. So that word becomes very prominent. Guess what you'll most crave?
And all for a quick fix?
So let's talk about my anti-diet!

I love food. I really do. I go to bed excited for breakfast. I LOVE my breakfasts, then potter on with my morning, with the idea of my 10am ish mini snack hovering...after which it's time to be excited for lunch. I love every meal, I love every snack and I have worked to be at a point that pretty much everything I eat is also something my gut, skin, heart, muscles, energy and moods love too. It's a big win-win happy love cycle.
And this is where I would love you to be too, if you're not already!
Most people I work with initially need a bit of a reset. Having a 30 day focused (but delicious and enjoyable) reset massively fast tracks your journey to higher level physical and mental wellbeing. And, if you have a couple of excess lbs to lose, it gives these lbs a quick kick to the kerb! And this isn't one of those resets like the ones people disappear off to exclusive retreats for, where you pay extortionate amounts of money for them to feed you nothing, except some kind of grass blend, while they purge your insides. This is swapping your meals and snacks for 30 days for options which maximise your nutrition, cleanse and feed your gut, feed your muscles, give your skin what it needs to start getting its glow back, boost your moods, boost your energy, uplevel your sleep!

And after the 30 days? Into a lifelong, flexible, manageable plan, based on giving you the knowledge and tools to build your health up and up step by step. I think mine health is pretty decent. But I plan to improve through the rest of my 40s, into my 50s.
Because, if wine can get better with age, why can't I?
If you fancy a chat about how to reach your goals, look younger, feel younger and all while loving food as much as I do? Let's chat. Because food really is my favourite thing to chat about!
