Quick Fix Weight Loss

Promises are everywhere! A few injections, tablets or down a few shots and you will transform to a lean, size 8 model. Just like that. So let's talk about this a little more.
Do these quick fixes work?
Well, it depends what results you are hoping for. YES, many of these may well result in quick (short term) weight loss. How? That depends on the particular injection or pill, but most likely by altering your metabolism or suppressing your hunger hormones and so reducing appetite. Think speed/amphetamines. So, often, they suppress sleep too. I had a friend took some magical weight loss pills that she was given. Yes she lost weight. Yes she was BUZZING! No, she couldn't sleep. Yes, her moods and emotions were all over as a result. But, she lost the weight. So maybe that's a win?

If you haven't yet watched the Channel 4 programme, 'The Truth About The Skinny Jab' then see if you can find it on catch up. Definitely worth a watch. I've both seen and read about a good number of ladies who have used the injections and absolutely lost some weight, but all experienced horrendous side effects, including nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, headaches and fatigue. Which I guess means more weight loss? So again, is that a win?
The general summary being, if you want a quick fix weight loss, and don't mind all of the above, then I'm pretty sure you can get most things online these days!
How about some less extreme options?

I've seen some other options going round the internet and social media the last few weeks, which involve taking an innocent looking little shot each day. Which looks a bit like the green tea energy shots that I enjoy. These seem to come with some fabulous before and after pictures to show the weight loss results. Again, I have no doubt that these are all genuine results. HOWEVER, just be sure you know what you are signing up for. I have my green tea energy shots as a pre gym boost but I also then eat REAL NUTRITION. When I read the small print of the weight loss shots, the reason you lose weight is that it works on the assumption that you DON'T EAT! You just have the shots, which give you a boost while you are nutrition free. So,, if you like not eating, that's also an option. I like food too much!
How about actual food diets?

Now we're starting to talk more sensibly. Real food. And, as long as you are in a calorie deficit, you'll lose weight. But if you are JUST focusing on counting, you could again be scuppering your health and long term results. For example, you could probably have a Mars Bar for breakfast, a McDonalds for lunch and a bowl of ice-cream for dinner each day and this could taken you into a calorie deficit to lose a few lbs for your holiday. But think of the effects on your energy, skin, health....and your moods and emotions will most likely be on a crazy rollercoaster!
So, let's think back about your goals.
If you purely want to lose weight short term, maybe for holiday and are not worried about:

long term effects
long term weight gain
ageing
gut health
heart health
skin health
healthy hair and nails
lean muscle tone
energy
moods
sleep
Then any of the above will work just fine!
'But I just DO want to drop a dress size quickly for my holiday! Can I lose a few lbs quickly for my holiday in a HEALTHY way?!'
Absolutely! I work with individuals who are doing this all the time! With food. And not even any lettuce involved (unless you like lettuce and then you can have as much as you like!)
